Crave Privacy Policy

Crave is made by Hira Projects AB in Stockholm, Sweden. We collect as little as we can, use it only to make the app work for you, and never sell it. The detail below explains exactly what that means.

• Location. To find restaurants near you and to nudge you when you're close to a place you saved. You can use the whole app without granting location: it simply asks which area you're in instead.
• Account details (only if you sign in). If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we store your name and email so your saved places sync across devices and friends can find you. Sign-in is optional; the core app works with no account at all.
• Your saved places and taste. The restaurants you heart and the cuisines, budget, and dietary preferences you set, so the app can tailor what it shows you.
• Contacts (only if you ask us to find friends). If you use “find friends from contacts,” phone numbers are scrambled (hashed) on your device before anything is checked. Your contact list never leaves your phone in readable form.
• Camera (only when you use it). Used solely when you photograph a menu for an order suggestion or scan a friend's pairing code. Those images are processed for that single purpose, not kept as a profile of you.
• Basic usage and crash data. App-level information about which features are used and any crashes, so we can keep Crave working and fix problems.

• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.

A few trusted services help run Crave. They only process what they need to provide their part of the app, on our instructions:

• Google Places. Supplies the restaurant information (names, photos, hours, ratings) shown in the app.
• Convex. Hosts the app's backend: your account, saved places, and friend connections.
• Apple & Google Sign-In. Authenticate you if you choose to sign in. We receive only your name and email.

We keep your information only for as long as you use Crave. If you created an account, you can delete it and everything tied to it at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app. That removal is permanent.

Anything stored only on your device is removed when you reset the app or delete it from your phone.

Because we are based in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@hiraprojects.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Crave is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
